CDs:  You can install MidnightBSD with only disc1.  

disc2 and disc3 contain packages for many applications such as
KDE 3.5.10, GNUstep, ...

bootonly can be used for FTP installs, although this isn't recommended.

Anyone creating ISOs for distribution should try to use all 3 cds and
skip the boot only cd.
